Handmade Luxury Ceramic Candles
Sink into the quiet of Kielder Forest. Each ceramic candle pot is individually thrown in speckled stoneware clay by Laura in Hexham, then finished in one of three soft, contemporary glazes designed to sit gently in any space. Filled with 100% vegan soy wax, hand blended with pure essential oils and poured in small batches, it brings a calm, steady sense of the forest into your home.
A natural wooden S-wave wick gives a gentle crackle as it burns for around 40 hours, carrying a grounding blend of cedarwood, pine, fir needle and a touch of patchouli pure essential oils. The wide form allows for an even melt pool and a steady, balanced scent throw that settles quietly into the room. Once finished, the ceramic vessel is designed to be refilled with a new wax puck, and pairs with a handmade ceramic matchbox holder to complete the ritual. Light it and let the forest close in around you.

Deep in the heart of England's largest working forest, Kielder stretches across the Northumberland uplands like an ancient, breathing world unto itself over 250 square miles of towering conifers, still reservoirs, and mossy forest floors.
This scent captures that world faithfully. The rich earthiness of oak moss anchors the blend, evoking fallen bark and damp woodland soil after rain, while bay leaf adds a warm, slightly spiced herbal quality the kind you notice when a breeze moves through the undergrowth. A breath of eucalyptus lifts it all, cutting through the density with something cool and clean, like the cold air that hangs between the trees on a grey November morning.
Entirely composed of essential oils, it is a scent of quiet depth and unhurried wildness made for those who find peace in the forest.

At FÝR Northumbria, we choose soy wax because it is a clean, renewable, and plant‑based alternative to traditional paraffin. Paraffin is derived from petroleum, a non‑renewable resource, and burns faster with more soot, which can mark containers, walls, and ceilings. It can also release chemicals into the air as it burns, which is far from ideal for indoor spaces. In contrast, soy wax is sustainably sourced from soybeans, burns slowly and evenly, and carries fragrance gently, creating a longer‑lasting, cleaner candle that fills your home with warmth and calm.
Why do I only use Soy Wax?
Beyond its sustainability, soy wax enhances the sensory experience of each candle. Its lower melting point allows essential oils to release their natural scents fully, giving a subtle, balanced aroma that complements a quiet, considered atmosphere. The soft, even melt pool supports a steady burn and gentle glow, making each lighting a moment of calm and reflection. Why do I only use Natural Essential Oils
At FÝR Northumbria, we use natural essential oils rather than synthetic fragrance oils because they provide an authentic and gentle scent experience. Fragrance oils are often artificially created, overpowering, and can smell chemical or flat, masking the subtlety of natural ingredients. Essential oils, on the other hand, capture the true character of plants, herbs, woods, and flowers, giving each candle a layered, nuanced aroma that feels calm, considered, and alive.
Using essential oils also supports a cleaner, more natural burn. They blend beautifully with our 100% vegan soy wax, releasing fragrance gently without overwhelming the space or filling it with synthetic notes.
